Aurora Borealis

It has been my lifelong wish to see the Northern Lights, Aurora Borealis in the evening sky. Yesterday my wish was granted. During last night’s geomagnetic storm, the northern lights were visible in many parts of the world, including Ontario. Once I noticed a light glow in the North, I grabbed my tripod and camera and opened the shutter to see what the camera would register. Even without seeing the results from my camera I could already see the curtain shaped green flares that were caused by the collisions of electrically charged particles which entered the atmosphere. It was amazing. Enclosed are my first pictures of the Aurora Borealis. I hope there will be more opportunities soon to capture this beautiful phenomenon.
